Dapperling_Nov_crop20141031_141921-1_resizedDapper_spores Another new Dapperling – with unusual bullet-shaped spores. Spore size Me = 6.1 x 3 µm ; Qe = 2

Likely ID: the Stinking Dapperling, Lepiota cristata

Next a Conocybe with ring on stipe, spore size Me = 7.8 x 4.4 µm ; Qe = 1.8 with indistinct germ pore. This group of conecaps with rings are hard to distinguish, but the spores here fit with Conocybe filaris given in Buczacki. The Fools Conecap. GEC are flask-shaped with a pronounced neck (see photo, stained with aq. Congo Red). This was from another sample taken nearby a couple of days earlier.

Finally for today, a robust mushroom with interesting black warty spores…size Me = 9.9 x 6.6 µm ; Qe = 1.5. This is was quite easy to spot in the black spored Genus section – it is Lacrymaria lacrymabunda, the Weeping Widow.
